Description
Up for sale is this butter pat from an unknown maker. It features a tan body with a gold and brown flowers and leaves decoration in a wide band around the inside of the Econo-rim edge. I am not familiar with this pattern. Itmeasures almost exactly 3" in diameter. This piece is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. There are very light utensil/stacking marks. There is a code of some sort printed on the reverse: "1C". If this is a Syracuse China piece, this code would date the piece to January of 1922!! Usually Syracuse put "O.P.CO. SYRACUSE CHINA" on the backs of these, but perhaps because it is so small, they didn't feel they had room for a full logo. I'm just guessing here though. Anyway, it is made from a thicker blank intended for the rigors of use in a restaurant, hotel dining room or railroad dining car. Thanks for looking.
Note: I'll be listing more than 30 butter pats over the next couple of days. Please find them by clicking the "visit store" link above and then searching for butter.
