This vintage Japanese haori jacket would have been worn on top of a vintage kimono on a chilly day. The retro feel of the patterning suggests it might be from the 1950s or 1960s.
Get noticed in this bright and bold vintage kimono jacket that is sure to turn heads. (It would also make a lively autumn accent piece on the wall.) Big golden swirls curve against red and a deeper golden background, with a soft white edging that creates movement and depth in the design. Great partywear!
Haori do not cross over or tie with a sash, like a kimono does - they are meant to be worn open to reveal a bit of what is worn beneath.
All of the stitching is hidden (since it was hand-sewn) so technically these haori jackets are reversible. Sometimes the lining is as pretty as the outer jacket!
